Since 2001\u00a0Marnix Busstra<\/a>\u00a0plays the 8-string bouzouki, but he mainly used it as an instrument \u2018on the side\u2019, next to his main\u00a0instrument the jazz-guitar.\u00a0In 2020, due to the corona lockdown, he decided to use his empty calendar to make a\u00a0solo-album on the bouzouki:\u00a0\u2018Dances with silence\u2019.<\/a><\/p>\n The way he uses this instrument is not in the classical way it\u2019s used in Greek or Irish music. He tunes it in a way it\u00a0more or less sounds like an oriental instrument and he plays it in his very \u2018own\u2019 way. All this creates a very\u00a0specific sound and atmosphere, there is a lot of \u2018silence\u2019 in it.
