Composing has become a second nature for Marnix. His bands, with their specific characters, must be nourished with new material at all times, while writing the music to Karin Bloemen’s lyrics is an on-going process.
Below are some examples of Marnix’s compositions. Listening to ‘Magic Hour’ you can clearly tell how he has been influenced by twentieth century composers, while ‘Little Boy On The Hill’ has definite traces of world music. The third song, ‘Geen kind meer’, is the award winning composition he wrote for his wife, Karin Bloemen.
